About the Founders
Mackenzie Reimer and Kathryn Cannon Weir were introduced through their (now) husbands in 2019. The pair bonded quickly over a love for needlepoint, racquet sports, coastal upbringings, and passion for local businesses! In 2021, they opened Third Coast Stitches in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood and in 2025, they moved that location to Old Town. A nod to their East and West Coast roots, TCS has quickly grown into a community of creators and a cornerstone of the needlepoint community. Mackenzie and Kathryn live in Chicago, IL with their partners and many, many unfinished needlepoint projects.
